Legacy Impact Venture Enterprises Africa (LIVE Africa) began after a series of conversations in Nairobi, Kenya with African women in business, entrepreneurs, managers and board members grappling with how to secure investments to grow and sustain African women-led businesses or companies with African women in leadership.

The issues were common: limited access to networks to raise capital, market bias and being overlooked, and challenges telling an impact story. LIVE Africa became a clarion call to equip businesses with the tools and financial resources for African women entrepreneurs, their households, and communities to live on sustainable business that delivers positive social outcomes and financial performance.

We support by providing Impact Measurement and Management services and drive impact investments to African women-led businesses and gender-balanced businesses through partnerships and through our fund, Kuishi Afrika, which means “Live Africa” in Swahili. OuR IMpact measurement and management services

Our team brings together experience working to assess and measure impact for investors, organizations, and entrepreneurs. We use leading industry tools and resources including, IRIS+ and the Impact Management Project convention to help clients understand and track their impact over time. We draw from our expertise in health, education, art/creative economy, agribusiness, and tech. In addition to providing IMM services, we offer training to investors and entrepreneurs seeking to develop their own practice.

Partnerships for capacity building

We believe partnerships are critical to delivering positive impact for our clients and the communities we aim to serve. LIVE Africa established a partnership with Sopact Impact Cloud to strengthen our collective services for investors, organizations, and entrepreneurs seeking to develop and enhance their impact reports. The LIVE Africa team will be providing technical assistance using the Impact Cloud technology and raising awareness of how technology can strengthen impact reporting. Our team also seeks to work with investors and organizations to launch new impact initiatives.

DrIVING CAPITAL TO AFRICAN ENTREPRENEURS

In the coming months, LIVE Africa will begin raising for its Kuishi Afrika Fund to invest for impact in African women-led businesses and businesses with a gender-balanced team in the sectors of health, education, arts/creative economy, agribusiness, and tech. We believe in providing IMM support for entrepreneurs as well as the financing needed for them to grow their businesses. Therefore we are targeting early-stage businesses starting in Kenya.
