IMPACT MEASUREMENT AND MANAGEMENT
We are dedicated to mainstreaming IMM using gender and Africa lenses to make it relevant and impactful for inventors and entrepreneurs investing and working in African countries. Our approach is informed by the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN), IRIS+ and IMM guidance as well as the Impact Management Project convention. Drawing for experience working with the GIIN, impact investors, and industry-leading IMM organizations and practitioners, LIVE Africa works to simplify and provide clarity on IMM. We aim to dispel myths around the practice and to better assess the impact on people and planet.
Partnerhips
Partnerships are central to our work. LIVE Africa recently partnered with Sopact Impact Cloud, an innovative data management and reporting platform to better serve our clients and advocate for quality IMM tools and resources. We work with the Sopact team to engage investors, Entrepreneur Support Organizations (ESOs) and entrepreneurs around our shared interest to strengthen impact reporting.
TRAINING ON IMM: METRIC SELECTION & STRATEGY
We recognize that there are still challenges and skepticism about practicing Impact Measurement and Management, particularly in frontier markets. LIVE Africa’s training program aims to be an equalizer, levelling the playing field for investors and entrepreneurs in African countries to access and strengthen their approaches to IMM. Based on the needs, gaps, and interests, our team develops training modules for investors, entrepreneurs, and organizations to develop and build on their IMM approaches and investment strategies.
Bespoke training for lpS and gpS
Demystifying IMM is key to improving the way we invest and deliver products and services to serve people and the planet. The LIVE Africa team is available to customize our training program to meet the needs of LPs and GPs seeking additional guidance on strengthening their practice. We partner with other IMM practitioners to provide in-depth knowledge of IMM.
UNLOCKING CAPITAL
Having an understanding of the gaps and opportunities to invest with a gender lens as well as through an African cultural context, LIVE Africa’s affiliate company, Kuishi Afrika will launch our fundraising effort in 2020 to support more African women-led companies and businesses with gender-balanced teams. We will invest in our target sectors: health, education, arts/creative economy, agribusiness, and technology. Currently, we are developing our approach and will share more information in the coming months.
